How do you set up a greeting message on your Google voice mail?

I need to set up a message that people get when I don't answer. For example: "Hey, I'm not here right now, leave a message". How do I do that for Google voice. Do I have to call a number to do it? Please help!|||set up a custom voicemail greeting for when contacts who call you are directed to your Google voicemail. To do this, follow the steps below:





1. Click Settings at the top right of any page.


2. In the Voicemail Greeting section, click the Add link.


3. Enter the name for the greeting you're going to record and click OK.


4. A Record Greeting box appears. Select the phone you want to call to record the greeting, from the Phone to ring drop-down menu.


5. Click Connect.


6. Pick up the call and record your voicemail greeting when prompted to do so.


7. Once you've recorded your voicemail greeting, make sure the voicemail greeting you want to play is selected from the Voicemail Greeting drop-down of the General tab of your Settings.


8. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
