Can people text you back if your using google voice?

I'm just wondering if someone would be able to text me back if i was using google voice. If you can how does it work? do they just hit reply to the message u sent or what?|||well say you text someone from google voice or any IM, they just txt reply back from phone or where ever and it would go directly to your google voice. It works same way as you would txting from your phone or IM.|||No you must not choose the voice
