Does my gmail have to be open to receive calls on Google Voice?

I just set up a Google Voice account and I am wondering does my gmail account have to be open for me to get an incoming call?|||It depends on where you are receiving the incoming calls. If you want to receive incoming calls on your PC, then yes, you need to be logged in. You also need to go into your Google Voice account and make sure your "Google Chat" option is check under "Voice settings". If you are receiving calls on your cell or home phone, then you don't have to be log on to Gmail account.|||Of course it does, unless you get Google Desktop to get a widget for Gmail.
