How do you use google voice?

I just downloaded the app google voice on my droid phone so that I can text and call with different numbers but I have no idea how to use this!!! Help!!|||Register for a Google Voice number then add your mobile or home phone to Google Voice. When someone dials your GV number, your mobile phone and/or home phone will ring. If you make calls using GV app on your Droid, then your GV number will show up as your caller ID number and not your cell number. This is good if you don't want to give out your personal cell number.

You can make and receive calls in your Gmail plus many more features:|||i not a expert on this but ive been using google voice for a couple of months and what google voice does is give you a free number that can make free pc to mobile calls and free mobile to mobile txts. Now what this means is that you have a number that can you can give to other people instead of your mobile number and what the app does is sync your google voice number with your mobile so that you share your inboxs, that way you can save voicemails and txts for future use. There are many more features to google voice app such as blocking people calls and forwarding it to another number, i've only talked about the significant features.
