Does it cost money to get a Google Voice phone number?

I got the google voice app on my ipod touch and made a google voice number so i could call people on it but i wanted to know if getting a google voice number is free or do i have to pay?|||100% free


Also it's free to call anywhere in North America but if your calling outside of N.A it'll cost you varying on where outside of N.A you call|||Its free to get a Google Voice number at www.google.com/voice IF you are in the lower 48 states. You can use it in Hawaii/Alaska but you can't get a GV number. Your mobile phone carrier may charge you for airtime minutes while you use GV. Calls from the US to US or Canadian numbers are free.
